The Little Engine That Could

Letterpress print of city and train

I am very honored to announce that my Train Type print has been selected for two different exhibitions this spring.

Interrobang

It will be on display April 30 through May 30th at the Interrobang: An International Showcase of Letterpress exhibit organized by Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft in southern England. My print will be one of 25 selected for exhibit. The exhibit is part of their Village of Type program running through the month of May, and will be part of Ditchling's annual Artists' Open House Trail.

As part of the Interrobang exhibit my print will also be part of the Interrobang issue of the beautiful print publication Random Spectacular.

New Impressions

Additionally I'm thrilled that this same print has been selected to be part of the New Impressions 2016 exhibit at the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum from May 11 through June 30. Pieces were chosen for the exhibit to showcase "exploration and creativity with letterpress printing techniques."

Following exhibition at Hamilton the show will travel to the Design College Australia in Brisbane, and the New England Regional Art Museum in Armadale, Austrailia.

Train Route

When this Seattle printer created the little train engine in a workshop in western New York last summer, I had no idea it would rack up so many miles!

It was shown earlier in January 2016 as part of the Pressing West: Contemporary Letterpress exhibit at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, and with the above exhibits it will add two additional continents to its itinerary. That's a lot of train track!
